APA Poland complying with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) is establishing procedures to collect and process Personal Data for the protection of Natural Person’s data according to GDPR regulations, called in this policy RODO (RODO is a Polish abbreviation for GDPR regulation).

APA Poland collects personal data for the purpose of finding employment for employees on board ships of all types and nationalities, as well as for carrying out projects in Polish and international shipyards and ports. APA Poland takes all necessary measures and procedures to collect, process, maintain, and secure personal data in accordance with legal standards. APA processes data fairly and transparently in accordance with GDPR regulations.

- What personal data we collect
APA Poland collects personal data in a reliable manner, in order to provide qualified employees with the opportunity to fulfil contracts on ships, in shipyards or in ports, and performing repairs in Polish and international shipyards and ports. APA Poland also collects personal data of the company’s employees, as well as subcontractors carrying out projects for the company or on company’s behalf, in Polish as well as international shipyards and ports. - Certificates confirming education and qualifications

Personal details about your physical or mental health, alleged commission or conviction of criminal offences are considered “sensitive” personal data under applicable data protection laws. Collected data will be used for the recruitment purposes in order to find a candidate a suitable job position or a contract. We act as a managing agent and mediator obtaining work requests from our clients and personal data are processed in accordance with this purpose. We also employ the candidates for APA Poland projects in the shipping industry, or any other industry connected with APA Poland services and activities in Poland and abroad, within European Union territory or worldwide.

APA Poland collects and processes personal data only after a written, legible, clearly understood and easily accessible consent of a candidate. Each appointed work, project or contract requires individual’s separate consent.

To determine the appropriate retention period we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of personal data, the purposes for which we process it for and whether we can achieve these purposes through other means. Each case is treated as per recruitment and business needs which is specified and agreed upon in the declaration of consent.
